Prada Spring 2009 RTW Shoes: Shoe Covers and Stilettos Written on September 24, 2008, by Shomore.
What does Miuccia Prada’s spring 2009 sky high shoes remind me of?
Shoe covers. Seriously, don’t these look like the shoe covers which doctors wear into the operating room or the disposable covers you are asked to put on before entering a model home?
No? What about no show loafer socks like the ones below? [...]
Red Carpet Shoes at the 2008 Emmys Written on September 23, 2008, by Shomore.
The 60th Annual Emmys were on last weekend. For me, the show itself was lackluster. The only memorable highlights I can recommend were Josh Groban’s medley of TV tunes, Ricky Gervais’s banter with deadpan Steve Carell, and the main reason why I tune in, the fashion.
Long gowns are always a problem when [...]
Y-3 Wedge: Would you wear it? Written on September 23, 2008, by galligator.
I’ve found another interesting shoe that I can’t stop staring at. This is not necessarily a good thing. This is almost a backwards-heel a la Marc Jacobs. At the same time, it is almost an Ice Skate gone horribly wrong.
So, I ask, would you wear it?
The Phasma 90 Stretch Wedge by Y-3.
($495 [...]
Fendi Logo Pump Written on September 23, 2008, by galligator.
I am not usually a fan of logo shoes. They are not really my thing; too busy, too ‘advertisy’, among other reasons. I am one of those gals who doesn’t like paying $300 extra on a shoe simply to get a logo.
But, I openly admit that I am really fond of these. They are a bit more subtle than most logo [...]
This Week in Shoes Written on September 21, 2008, by Shomore.
-The credit, financial, and mortgage crisis has me seriously worried about the impact to lives and families. In these challenging economic times, it is tough to think about shoes, however beautiful and distracting they may be. However, Stuart Weitzman reminded me why shoes are still relevant. Charitable donations are already hurting this year, so if [...]
Don’t forget to check the Weather Forecast Written on September 21, 2008, by galligator.
Friday: 92 Degrees Fahrenheit.
Saturday: Rain, wind and 30 degrees cooler.
This can only mean one thing. Soccer season has officially begun.
Yes, indeed. Saturday was the first, of many weekends to come, spent juggling soccer games (For 3 kids, now that my youngest is 4 and has started playing in the Tiny Tots program), Grandma visits, [...]
London Fashion Week: Jenny Packham’s Spring 2009 Shoes are Bubblicious Written on September 20, 2008, by Shomore.
I couldn’t help it. Jenny Packham’s Spring 2009 shoe colors reminded me of Bubblicious chewing gum flavors.
From clockwise left to right, all I could see were Gonzo Grape, Tropical Tango, Cotton Candy, and the Watermelon Wave flavor.
The style made me think it could pass as a d’orsay cousin of the Nine West [...]
Mighty Wedges and Platforms at Michael Kors Written on September 19, 2008, by galligator.
The shoes for last week’s Michael Kors Spring 2009 collection were anything but shy. Platforms and wedges in true 1970’s chunky fashion were power-walking down the catwalk.
These lifted sandals have a physical presence that is forceful, to say the least. The semi-architectural, cut-away wedge is great for the Funky Fashionista who is channeling her inner Flower Child.
I am not particularly a [...]
Talk like a Pirate Day. Written on September 19, 2008, by galligator.
Ahoy Matey and Shiver me Timbers, it be International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Never heard of it? Check out the official web-page Here. If you’re feeling punchy, you can also find your true Pirate Name (I am apparently Black Morgan Kidd).
Yes indeed, September 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day; a rather young holiday that is slowly growing its public [...]
Shoes of Project Runway 5.10 Written on September 18, 2008, by jitterbugbaby.
OK, so my Shoes of Project Runway isn’t nearly as exciting as Twinkletoes’ up-close-and-personal tale.
But nevertheless, there was PR this week, and I aim to find those Bluefly shoes, just like every other week.
So, first up, let’s look at Jerell’s winning outfit. A) Deserved to win. B) Totally perfect for the girl. C) I WANT [...]
